Diabetes Support is One Facet of Available Services
[Hastings Star Gazette, Aug. 27, 2009] For some hearing the word, “diabetes” brings emotion and apprehension. It does not have to be that way.
“Yes, it is a serious disease, but you can be well with it,” said Sharon Mathews, health educator with Allina Medical Clinic, Hastings. Diet, weight control and exercise can contribute to a healthy life.
Allina Medical Clinic also offers a variety of educational services to people with diabetes. There is also support available. For 17 years, Allina Medical Clinic and Regina Medical Center have sponsored a monthly support group. After a two~month break, the meetings are scheduled to begin again.
