Family welcomes new year, new member
Katie and Andrew Oeltjenbruns cradle the newest member of their family, Asher Andrew. Asher was born Jan. 2 at 10:31 a.m. and is the Steele County’s first baby of the new year.
[Owatonna People's Press, Jan. 2, 2010] Asher Andrew Oetljenbruns is 2010’s first new resident of Owatonna.
Andrew and Katie Oeltjenbruns rang in the new year by starting a new family. In fact, Katie started to feel the baby coming on Dec. 31, but it wasn’t until 2:45 p.m. Friday that the family went into the hospital. After a long night, Asher was born at 10:31 a.m. Saturday, weighing 8 lbs. 3 oz.
“I had a lot of support. I had a great nurse and my husband, both our moms and my sisters were there with me,” Katie said.
