No fatal falls in Minnesota hospitals in 2009
[Pioneer Press, Jan. 14, 2010] No patients in Minnesota hospitals died from falls last year — a first for the state since it started publicly reporting preventable hospital errors six years ago.
Health officials said the decrease — down from 10 fall-related deaths in the previous reporting period — was a remarkable achievement that required the cooperation and creativity of many hospitals in the state.
